SPARTA — Red Boiling Springs opened its baseball season March 4 with a 12-2 loss at White County.
The Warriors scored nine runs in the bottom of the first inning as 14 batters came to the plate against Abiel Perez Mendoza, who pitched the first two innings.
The Bulldogs scored both of their runs in the top of the third inning. Two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases for Jared White, who singled in two runs to bring RBS to within 10-2.
White County got those runs back in the fourth and ended the game by the 10-run rule in the fifth.
The Warriors had eight hits to three by the Bulldogs, who committed four errors.
