After a very busy ending of 2012 with all the tournaments, the Red Boiling Springs Basketball program started the New Year with a game at home. They hosted the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets on January 4th, 2013.

The Lady Bulldogs started the new year with an exciting game at home. They hosted the Lady Yellow Jackets of Trousdale County at home. The Lady Bulldogs bench is still missing their point guard Ashyln Murphy. Murphy re-injured her knee a few weeks ago and has been out since. She is expected to return to action shortly. Although the Lady Bulldogs trailed the entire game, they gave the Lady Jackets a panic toward the end of the game. The Lady Bulldogs were down by 8 at the start of the fourth quarter but they made a run to catch up with their opponents. The game was back and forth in the last quarter of play. The Lady Bulldogs gave their all till the final buzzer, losing to the Lady Jackets by six.
Shooting 33.3% from the two point range, the Lady Bulldogs attempted 30 shots, hitting 10. From the three point line, they had 20% accuracy hitting 3 out of 15 shots.
