Three young people were arrested for road hunting deer out of season and promotion of methamphetamine all in one evening last Wednesday, November 28.

Sgt. Smith and Dep. Shockley of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department received a nighttime call that somebody was road hunting down on Carter Branch Rd. They located the vehicle, which contained Sky White, 25, who was driving, Matthew White, 24, and Dustin Wright, 19.

They brought the trio back to the Sheriff’s Department and contacted James Dooley of TN Wildlife. Dooley conducted an interview with them, and charged each of the three with Hunting big game: closed season, and Wildlife: spotlighting. Sky White received two counts of each, as she was driving the vehicle.

It was later that Sgt. Smith and Dep. Shockley located the ingredients to manufacture meth in the vehicle as well—these included a large container of Coleman lantern fuel, multiple packs of Energizer lithium batteries, and a box of pseudophed tablets.

The three were then charged with promotion of methamphetamine, which carries as $10,0000 bond. They will each face the meth charge in court on the same date: 1/2. Bonds for hunting charges are set at $2,500 for the two males and $5,000 for the female, with a 12/19 court date for each of the suspects.
