She was born in Monroe County, KY on June 8, 1931 to the late Johnny Strode and Lena Humes Strode. She was a retired factory worker for Genesco and a member of the Gamaliel United Methodist Church. She was united in marriage to Ray Dotts on February 14, 1952.
She is survived by her husband: Ray Dotts of Gamaliel; four sons and three daughters-in-law: Michael Ray Dotts of Hendersonville, TN, Kelly Dotts of Nashville, TN, Steve and Linda Dotts of Lafayette, TN, Kris and Kim Dotts of Cave City, KY; two daughters and one son-in-law: Judy Maners of Murfreesboro, TN; a daughter-in-law: Lesa Dotts of Tompkinsville, KY.; one sister: Betty Carol McDonald of Gallatin, TN; 17 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Kevin Dotts, two brothers: Bobby and Leon Strode, and a grandson: John Sabastian Dotts.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 3 at 1 p.m. at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel. Bro. Mark Templeton and Bro. Paul Mills officiated. Burial was in the Gamaliel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Todd McDonald, Donald Tidd, Johnny Tidd, Charlie Stout, Seannus Stout, Jimmy Dotts.
Honorary pallbearers were Joey Strode, Kris Dotts, Jr., Matthew Dotts, Charles Stout, II, Tyler Dotts, Howard Tidd, Charles Tidd.
