Bala Yamini Badasivam, who is from Chennai, India, addresses the Lafayette Rotary Club on Wednesday, June 9.
Badasivam is now a student at Tennessee Tech, where she is working on her masters degree in civil engineering.
She gave a slide presentation about the shortage of drinking water in her hometown. The speaker expressed a wish to someday go back to India and help solve this critical problem.
Pat White, program chairman, was recognized in winning several district awards for the efforts of this year's club.
