I also mentioned that I wondered if Truman's wife, Wilma, knew he was planning the trip. And apparently she didn't, because at the Post Office that Thursday afternoon when we mailed the papers she told me she wasn't too sure whether Truman would be going either.
But T.U. was telling me this week that 23 riders have made plans to go on the trip, and possibly 8-10 more, so I guess Wilma lost that argument.
They will be leaving Saturday morning, June 15 at 7 a.m. and return home Sunday afternoon, spending the night in Gatlinburg. (So Truman says).

And speaking of motorcycles anyone 80 years young and above who would like to form a motorcycle club should join with Mrs. Hilda Bailey. She isn't ready to go with the club to the mountains right yet, but she has had a practice session.
Mrs. Bailey, while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Clay Thomas of Red Boiling recently decided she wanted her son-in-law, “Bully” to take her for a ride. She climbed in the seat behind him and they went for a spin. I would like to think I would be able to ride a motorcycle after I pass 80 years (that is if Truman Gregory isn't the driver).

Congratulations to Jimmy for his outstanding scholastic performance.

Quiz: Who was the first US President to travel by jet? (I don't know either, I was just wondering). But I would guess Dwight Eisenhower.

It's odd how people change in a few short years. Last week Emmagene West Rhodes dropped by the Times office to say hello. And for a minute I didn't recognize her, despite the fact were raised on the same street, and were just about next door neighbors. But anyways I was glad to see Emmagene again after all these years.
And speaking of old friends, Ross Fishburn dropped by the Times office for a chat the other day. Ross has been in California for the past 15-20 years working with the space program.

WRONG REPAIRMAN
The lady of the house summoned a TV service man to fix the set. Spreading out his tools, the repairman inquired “What seems to be the trouble?”
Replied the little woman, “Well for one thing all the programs are lousy.”
