The Macon County Senior Citizens Center will be selling “Walkin’ Tacos” on May 21 during the Hwy 52 Yard Sale. Come by and help support the center.

Rib Sale

The Macon County Senior Citizen’s Center is now taking orders for BBQ ribs prepared by Tim Case. The cost for a rack of ribs is $20. Please support the senior center by placing your order now. Orders ready to pick up June 25. Payment due at time of order. Call 666-3780 for more info.

MCGH Volunteer Program Fund-raiser

The MCGH Volunteer Program is sponsoring a Masquerade $5 jewelry sale May 20, 7 a.m.-4-p.m. The event will be held in the Macon County General Hospital conference room. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund activities of the hospital’s volunteer program including our academic scholarhips. Everyone is invited to partidipate.

The Haysville Cemetary decoration will be May 30. Donations can be sent to 7346 Scottsville Rd., Lafayette.

HWY 52 Yard Sale

Hwy 52 Yard Sale, Saturday only, May 22, sponsored by Chisholm Trail Helpers of New Life Baptist Church; the women’s ministry of New Life will be having a yard sale at the Comp. Rehab. building on Hwy 52 at Old Red Boiling Springs Road. All proceeds from the sale will be used to further the Foster Child and Christmas Child’s Program for 2010. There will be several bake sale items and clothes, furniture, toys and household items, in addition to free water and lemonade.

Cub Scout Fundraiser

2010 Relay for Life

Jacksonian Days Truck Pull

May 22, 6 pm at the Allen County Fairgrounds in Scottsville, KY. The pull is sanctioned by the Kentucky Outlaw Truck Pullers. Classes include Mini Trucks, Prostock and Prosteet two and four wheel drive. There will be unsanctioned diesel and gas four wheel drive classes after the sanctioned pull. Gate admission for the pull is $10. All proceeds will go towards the Allen County Jaycees Relay for Life Fund. For more information call 270-622-3472 or 270-618-0872.

Washington Motor Coach Tour

Sponsored by the Smith County Senior Center, this trip to the nation’s capitol Aug. 26-31 includes: five nights lodging and eight meals, one evening guided memorial and munuments tour, two daytime guided tours of Washington D.C.; price based on double occupancy is $475 per person; trip open to everyone. Cub Scout Fundraiser

On Saturday, May 22, there will be a cakewalk and silent auction at the National Guard Armory hosted by the Lions Club on behalf of Cub Scout Pack 402. NOTICES

Public Notice

The Lafayette Regional Planning Commission, meeting as the Board of Zoning Appeals, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 6 p.m. at Lafayette City Hall. The purpose of this hearing is to solicit public comments regarding a variance request in the side yard setback requirements of the R-1 Low Density Residential District for property at 651 Coolidge Rd. Said variance is for the construction of a carport. The application for this request, submitted by Richard Bransford, is on file at Lafayette City Hall. All interested persons are invited to attend this public hearing.

City Council Meetings

2010 Lafayette City Council meetings are scheduled on the first Tuesday of each month at 7p.m. Any public hearings or changes in the schedule will be announced prior to the meeting. Meetings will be on June 1, July 6, August 3, Sept. 7, October 5, November 2, and December 7.

Vendors Needed

Vision 2020 is currently preparing for the Independence Day Extravaganza. July 3, 2010 @ 10am - 5pm.

The committee is currently seeking Arts, Crafts and Farmer Market Vendors. 10' x 10' vendor space is available for a nominal fee of $25.00.

Vendor must provide own table, chairs, and/or canopy!

Space must be reserved and paid in full by June 3, 2010.
