Mr. McLerran was born in Clay County on Procter Creek, on February 11, 1922, the son of the late Harlan Ray and Nina (Walker) McLerran.
He was a member of New Hope Church of Christ. He worked as a Contractor and a Farmer.
Survivors include: Wife: Winnie McLerran – Celina, TN; three daughters: Joyce (James) Holman of Celina, TN; Patty (Chester) Hogan of Celina, TN;
Barbara (Delmos Jr.) Boone of Lebanon, TN; three sons: W. Roy (Jo Nell) McLerran of Moss, TN, Harlan Kirk (Joy) McLerran of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Kenneth Wayne (Mary) McLerran of Celina, TN.
He is also survived by sixteen Grandchildren: Andrea (Brad) Ayers, Abby (Jason) Bartholomew, Apryl (Lane) Boles, Christopher (Marsi) Boone, Amy (Jason) Dodson, Vickie (Mark) Evans, Jeffery Hogan, Tina (Rodney) Jolin, Kay (Michael) Kass, Bridget (Jimmy) Mays, Adam (Gina) McLerran, Brian (Samantha) McLerran, Charlotte (Chad) Montgomery, William "Sam" (Lori) Nichols, Philip (Diane) Poindexter, Annette "Button" (Jerry) Williams; and twenty-seven Great Grandchildren: Colin Ayers, Haley Bartholomew, Leah Bartholomew, Conner Boles, Grant Boles, Kaden Boles, Christopher Lucas Boone, Emily Boone, William “Will” Dodson, Jacqulyn Jolin, Joseph Jolin, Katie Mays, Samantha Mays, Brie McLerran, Cordell Wynn McLerran, Ella McLerran, Jedediah McLerran, Jesse McLerran, Leila Montgomery, Taylor Nichols, Tyler Nichols, Monica Poindexter, Dustin Sells, Ethan Steed, Seth Steed, Thatcher Steed, Christian Williams.
Cordell is also survived by two sisters: Lola Morris of Celina, TN, Mae Smith of Celina, TN; and two brothers: Claude McLerran of Celina, TN., Willie McLerran of Celina, TN.
Preceded in death by: Parents: Harlan and Nina (Walker) McLerran; Daughter: Brenda Grace; Sister: Florence Watson; Grandson: Barry Lane McLerran.
Funeral Service was at Hall Funeral Home in Celina, TN, at 1 PM on Saturday, March 13th, 2010 with Todd Elliott and Jason Dodson officiating. Burial was in the Moss cemetery.
