The plaintiff in the case is an 18-year-old Macon County woman.
Because the woman was 17 at the time some of the alleged incidents occurred, “her name and address are filed under seal,” according to the suit.
Also, the Times does not name victims of alleged sexual crimes.
The suit, a copy of which was obtained by the Macon County Times, lists five counts against Hollis. Those counts are:
1.) Outrageous conduct
2.) Multiple assaults
3.) Multiple sexual assaults
4.) Intentional infliction of emotional distress
5.) Invasions of privacy
The suit was filed by Gallatin attorney Jim Hawkins.
Several attempts to reach Hawkins for comment have been unsuccessful.
Hollis declined to comment.
The suit states that “a jury of twelve (12) is respectfully demanded.”
The Plaintiff, according to the suit, seeks the following:
1.) “For proper process to issue and for the Defendant Hollis to be served with a true and accurate copy of this Complaint and for the Defendant to be required to answer within the time required by law.
2.) “That the Plaintiff be awarded a sum by a jury for her actual and compensatory damages of not less than $300,000, and punitive and/or special damages of not less than $500,000;
3.) “That the Plaintiff be awarded a permanent restraining order against the Defendant;
4.) "That the costs of this action be taxed to the Defendant, including discretionary costs; and
5.) “For such other, further, and general relief as the justice of the Plaintiff’s cause may warrant.”
According to the suit:
The woman “was 17 years old when she and her boyfriend, who was over 18, rented an apartment from Defendant Hollis, on or about Nov. 30, 2008.” The apartment, according the suit, is located in Red Boiling Springs.
The woman’s name was on the lease, according to the suit, but she did not sign it because she was 17 at the time.
“A few days later, during December 2008, while the boyfriend [of the woman] was at work during the daytime and [the woman] was home alone with her baby,” the suit states, “Hollis came into her apartment and proceeded to sexually molest [the woman] by placing both of his hands on her chest, against her will, and groping her breasts.”
According to the suit, the woman “told Hollis to stop, but he persisted and began to pull open the front of her tank-top T-shirt in order to fulfill his stated desire to see her breasts.”
The suit states that Hollis returned to the woman’s apartment “and entered it, usually without knocking and without permission” a total of five additional times from Dec. 2008 through Feb. 2009.
“On each such occasion,” the suit states, “Hollis sexually molested [the woman] by using both of his hands to grope her breasts against her will.”
More details to follow later tonight, and in Thursday's edition of the Macon County Times.
