Funeral Services for Jacquelyn Knight Slate, age 82, a resident of Knollwood Manor and formerly of Red Boiling Springs, TN were conducted Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Elder Joey Hackett officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery with her grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers.

Jacquelyn passed away Thursday morning, January 28, 2010, at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tennessee.

She was born August 24, 1927 in Macon County, Tennessee, one of five siblings of the late Willie, better known as Jack and Callie Carver Knight. On September 28, 1945, she married James Aubry Slate, who preceded her in death on July 12, 2004. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant son, sister, Josephine Knight and her brothers, Jerry, Willis and Charles, better known as Mutt Knight. She was a homemaker and a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. One of her greatest assets in life was her love for children. She was a great babysitter keeping many children during her life and her influences on them will never be forgotten.

Survivors include: Daughter & Son-in-Law, Kathy & Lanny Hudson, Lafayette, TN, Sons & Daughters-in-law, Richard & Debbie Slate, Nashville, TN, David & Margie Slate, Bowling Green, KY, Grandsons, Brandon Hudson, Kevin, Chris, Chandler and Dustin Slate, Great-Grandchildren, Amber Manning, Justin, Kayle and Kelsey Slate, Great-Great-Grandson, David Manning.
