We started our 14th season of Jr Pro Basketball up this past weekend as we had some very exciting and interesting games that took place. The 1st game was a 6-8 girls’ game and had Melissa Belton’s team defeating Mendy Cliburn’s team 18-7. For Melissa, Marah King had 7 points, Jade Young had 6, Olivia Belton and Katerina Vinson had 2 each and Kennedy Fleming had 1. For Mendy, Chloe Cliburn had 3 and Jaelyn Jenkins had 2.

The 2nd game was also a 6-8 girls’ game and had Shawn Carter’s team winning over Nathan Gregory’s team 14-9. For Shawn, Keeley Carter had 10 and McKaylee Mix and Morgan Carter had 2 each. For Nathan, Jamie Ashburn had 6 and Savanah Colvin had 3.

The 3rd game was a 6-8 boys’ game and had Dewayne Cook’s team defeating Wes Clayborne’s team 29-11. For Dewayne, Parker Thomas had 10, Devon Dillehay had 9, Kelton Ballou had 4 and Elliot McGuire, Colby Bilbrey and Tanner Gann had 2 points each. For Wes, Kade Allen had 6, Gavin Clayborne had 3 and Jon Mark Gammons had 2.

The 4th game was a 6-8 boys’ game and had Jason Marsh’s team winning over Derrick Dickens’ team 35-5. For Jason, Houston Stafford had 14, Isaac Belton had 13, Dalton Marsh had 4 and Matthew Murphy and Lake Reid had 2 each. For Derrick, Stephen Lancaster had 4 and Logan Malotte had 1.

The 5th game was a 9-12 girls’ game and had Tiffany Clariday’s team defeating Anthony Bullington’s team 27-1. For Tiffany, Jenna Russell had 12, Kinsley Green had 6, Brooke Collins had 3 and Kristin Shoulders, Kara Bowman, and Keeley Clariday had 2 each. For Anthony, Meleah Leath had 1 point.

The 6th game was a 9-12 girls’ game and had Carrie White’s team winning over Chad Shoulders’ team 21-14. For Carrie, Jordan Hauskin had 10, Bailey Morgan and Reagan White had 4 each, Madison Edwards had 2 and Taylor McCormick had 1. For Chad, Kinli Wix and Mallory Owens had 4 each and Sarah Carter, Bailey Porter and Jacy Russell had 2 each.

The 7th game was a 9-12 boys’ game and had Van Presley’s team defeating Gene Carman’s team 33-26. For Van, Evan Perrigo had 21, Tyler Gann had 8 and Matt Hudson and Cameron Welch had 2 each. For Gene, Michael Ashburn had 13, Gene Carman IV had 5, Taylor Carman had 4 and Ryne Sloan and Riley Phillips had 2 each.

The 8th game was a 9-12 boys’ game and had Jeremy Phillips’ team winning over Brian Long’s team 26-17. For Jeremy, Tanner Cleary had 10, Bryant Goolsby had 6, Dillon Halliburton and Landon Polston had 4 each and Isaac Grant had 2. For Brian, Josh Tirjan had 5, John Russell had 3, Landen Woodcock, Carson Brawner, Justin Bergdorff and Chase Long had 2 each and Owen Morgan had 1.

The 9th game was a 9-12 boys’ game and had Connie Shrum’s team defeating Dwayne Colter’s team 26-6. For Connie, Kendrick Carter had 9, Clay Carnahan had 7, Cayden Shrum had 4, and Joshua Hauskin, Ben Burrow and Brayden Miller had 2 each. For Dwayne, Nicholas Hill had 4 and Jake Reeves had 2.

We will be playing at Central Elementary for the next 5 Saturdays so I would like to invite the community to come out and watch these young men and young ladies as the show off their basketball skills. There are 9 games every Saturday so you can come out and enjoy a lot of basketball action.
