Funeral Services for Ruth Carter Clements, age 89 of the Hermitage Springs Community in Clay County, TN were conducted Friday morning, January 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Clementsville Cemetery. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Ruth passed away Tuesday morning, January 5, 2010 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, KY. She was born July 4, 1920 in Clay County, TN, the daughter of the late Grover and Edna Wilson Carter. On April 11, 1946, she married Reed Clements, who preceded her in death on May 28, 1976. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Cornwell, sisters, Ann Russell and Reba Newman, brothers, Frank, Lewis and James Carter and grandsons, Phillip Grace, Layne Holland, Larry and Patrick Ray. Ruth was a garment factory worker for many years and a member of the Milestown Church of Christ.

Survivors include: Daughters & Sons-in-law, Sandra & Bobby Grace, Diana & Merwyn Holland, Wanda Ray all of the Hermitage Springs Community, son-in-law, Donnie Cornwell, Fairdale, KY, sisters & brother-in-law, Bertha & Mitchell Copas, Hermitage Springs, Jewell Price, Taylorville, IL, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
