Mary Lee Dotson, age 89, of Lafayette, Tennessee died on January 6, 2010 in Westmoreland, Tennessee after a lengthy illness. She was born October 6, 1920 in Lafayette, Tennessee to Robert and Mattie Lou Archer. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1940 and married Ralph Wick Dotson in 1940. They have celebrated 69 years of marriage.

Mary spent a life-time in retail sales; first with Delmer Jent at Lafayette Dry Goods, J. C. Penney Co. in Indiana and back to Lafayette Dry Goods. She finished her working career with Adonal, Inez, and Terry Hudson at Macon Dept. Store on the square. Miss Mary fitted countless children with their first shoes and assisted men and women with their clothing needs for over 40 years.

She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and a member of Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by: Sister, Virginia Brandon; Brothers, William Silas Archer, Webb Dotson Archer, and Rex Archer; and Daughter & Son-in-law, Julia Anna and Bobby Cothron.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Ralph Dotson of Lafayette, TN, her Daughter and Son-in-law, Lou and Alan Crabtree of Cookville, TX; Grandchildren, Lisa Howard and Husband, Steve of Nashville, TN and Christopher Cothron of Lafayette, TN; Sister, Peggy Goad and Husband, Ray of Lafayette, TN; Brother, Robert Archer of Lafayette, TN; Sister-in-law, Unie Archer of Cookeville, TN numerous nieces and nephews and her grand-dogs, Archer, Cole, Jaxon, Beau, and Bella also survive.

Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. The family is grateful to Westmoreland Care and Rehab Center staff for their care and compassion.

Alexander Funeral Home, Directors, were in charge of arrangements.
