Vision 2020 wishes to thank all who came to our Christmas Caroling Saturday night.
It was a fun, warm, and wonderful time. We thank the community for joining us. Special thanks to Debbie and Dennis Emery who opened the dining room at the Armour’s Hotel when the weather conditions turned colder and the decision was made to move the event from the park. Their beautifully decorated hotel and warm hospitality were the perfect setting for our gathering of neighbors.
Thank you to Susie Eadler and her crew of volunteers for the cookies and hot cocoa. Thank you R. J. Wheaton and Susie Eadler for serving those refreshments as Ma and Pa from the Christmas poem: “Twas the Night before Christmas”. Thank you, Richard Eadler for serving as emcee for the evening. Thanks to all the carolers from the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church under the direction of Marcia Briggie; the Oak Grove Road Quartet; and a special quartet of six grade girls from the RBS School – Savannah Thomas, Priscilla Reagan, Chelsea Allen and Aimee Barney under the direction of Laura Blevins. The evening was capped off when everyone joined in the singing of familiar carols led by Doyle Smith, Laura Blevins, and some crazy woman in a red sweater. It was a fun time! Vision 2020 is proud to have hosted the evening. We hope it will be the first of many more community events.
As the warmth of the dining room warmed us on the outside and the cookies and cocoa warmed us on the inside; the singing together of favorite Christmas carols warmed our hearts. Thank you to all who made it a very merry Christmas event. We wish for all the citizens of our community a peaceful and prosperous new year!
Sincerely,
Vision 2020
