Christmas Home Tour

The Trousdale County FCE Christmas Home Tour will be December 10, 2009 at 5:30 PM. The cost is $10 (ages 8 and up). Call Trousdale Co. Extension for tickets 615-374-2421. Refreshments will be served from 5:00 - 5:30 PM at People's State Bank. Tour of five homes begins at 5:30 PM. School buses will be provided. Five homes and the Living History Museum will be toured.

Christmas Stars Pageant

The Macon County High School Cheerleaders are sponsoring a beauty pageant for any girl age zero months to 19 years of age. The Pageant is December 19. There is a $15.00 entry fee with four optional categories for $5.00 each. MCHS Cheerleaders are planning a "Miss Christmas Mistake Pageant" for the night of December 19th at 6:00 PM - "Girls" Division (13-18) 7:00 or 7:30 PM - "Ladies" Division (19 and above).

Vol State Spring 2010

Register now for Vol State spring classes at Macon County High School

Registration is open now for Volunteer State Community College spring semester classes at Macon County High School in Lafayette. There are several courses to choose from including: Intermediate Algebra, English Composition II, Astronomy, Human Growth and Development, General Psychology, Writing I and II, and Survey of American History II.

Online classes are another popular option at Vol State. The topics range from World Literature to Principles of Accounting, and include many of the college general education requirement classes. Online classes allow students to work at home and on their own schedule. The complete spring schedule of classes can be found on the college web site.

Classes start January 14. New students will need to apply to the college before they can register for classes. That can be done online at www.volstate.edu or in person at the campus in Gallatin. Admissions Advisors can walk new students through the process by calling 615-230-3688.
