100th Anniversary

Celebration

Martin's Chapel General Baptist Church at 112 Old Martin's Chapel Road in Portland, TN will have a 100th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, December 6th. Sunday school at 10:00, Worship at 11:00. Lunch to follow. In the afternoon about 1:30, a history of the church will be shared.

Special Prayer Service

Eulia General Baptist Church will be hosting a Special Prayer Service on November 29, 2009 at 6 pm in honor of all local military who will soon be deployed. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Bro. Robert Chapman will be preaching at Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church on December 6, 2009. Everyone welcome!

Bro. Daniel Tucker will be preaching at Sycamore Valley Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, December 6th at 11:00 AM.

Candle Lighting and

Chrismon services

Smith Chapel UM Church on Bennett Hill Rd. and Campground UM Church on Clementsville Rd. in Red Boiling Springs will be celebrating the Christmas Season with Sunday Advent Candle Lighting and Chrismon services each Sunday morning before Christmas and Christmas Eve at Campground Church. The Chrismon Tree will be on display throughout the season at each church. Times are Sunday 11:00 AM @ Smith Chapel; 9:30AM @ Campground; 5:30 PM Christmas Eve @ Campground. Everyone is invited.



Christmas Home Tour

The Trousdale County FCE Christmas Home Tour will be December 10, 2009 at 5:30 PM. The cost is $10 (ages 8 and up). Call Trousdale Co. Extension for tickets 615-374-2421. Refreshments will be served from 5:00 - 5:30 PM at People's State Bank. Tour of five homes begins at 5:30 PM. School buses will be provided. Five homes and the Living History Museum will be toured.

Last minute Holiday Craft

& Gift sale 12/19/09

A last minute holiday craft & gift sale will be held on 12-19-09 at the Westmoreland VFW hall at 2605 Epperson Springs Road Westmoreland, TN. We are still looking for a few vendors. All You Can Eat Dinner

There will be an All You Can Eat Dinner held at the VFW Hall on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 5:00 PM. The menu will be: Country Ham, red eye gravy, scrambled eggs, biscuits, hashbrowns, homemade jellies, jams, and molasses. This is open to the public. Come on out!

Christmas Dinner

The Macon County Democratic Party will hold its annual Christmas Dinner on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 6:00 PM at the Armour Hotel in Red Boiling Springs, TN. All Democrats and other interested persons are urged to attend. Please notify George McCrary, 699-2705 by December 5th if you plan to attend. Cost will be $15.00 per person. Invited guests are Sen. Financial Aid Night

There will be a Financial Aid Night at the MCHS Auditorium on Tuesday, December 8th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. This will be an informational meeting regarding post-secondary financial aid. Topics covered will be FAFSA federal, state, and local scholarships, grants, and loans and scholarships from universities and private organizations. Everyone is invited. High School Seniors and their parents are strongly urged to attend.

Open House

Tennessee Technology Center at Hartsville / Tri-County Extension Campus will hold an Open House on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Campus tours are at 1:00 PM. Opening Ceremony begins at 1:30 PM. The center is located at 2575 North Springs Road in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee

Meeting

The Macon County Historical & Genealogy Society will be having their monthly meeting @ 9 AM at the Welcome Center on Dec 5, 2009. If anyone has any WW II pictures, stories or any information or a Macon County Veteran please bring by. As the deadline is Dec 31, 2009.

We will be having our Christmas pot luck dinner @ 11:30 AM at the Welcome Center. Bring a covered dish and come join us for a great time.

Financial Aid Meeting at Red Boiling Springs High School

Red Boiling Springs High School will be hosting a financial aid meeting on Thursday, December 3 at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. Sam Mullins, Outreach Specialist for the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation, will provide financial aid information to seniors who plan on furthering their education after high school. He will discuss the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship Program, how to obtain state and federal grants and loans, as well as the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application. Seniors and their parents should attend this meeting if you plan to attend any school after graduation. Red Boiling Springs seniors will receive a packet of information in order to apply for these programs. If your child is not currently a senior, you are still invited to learn about the programs your child could be eligible for their senior year.

The Lafayette Regional Planning Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 6;00 PM at Lafayette City Hall. The public is invited to attend.

Seeking Donations

Residents Promoting A Better Community is having a Christmas Party for the Housing Authority. This is a program that helps give back thanks to the people who live here.

The Residents would like for any donations from any company that would like to help out. There will be people from the Housing Authority call or come around asking kindly for donations. They will have proof of a piece of paper to hand the company of you would like to help out with donations. Any donations would really help.

Christmas Party for the residents will be held December 5, 2009 at Lafayette Housing Authority. This party will have crafts to do with the children as well as food.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help give Christmas to the community.
