Mr. Barry Dycus, age 77, died on February 26, 213 at the at the Riverview Regional Medical Center after becoming gravely ill at his Rome Road home.

Funeral services were conducted from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon February 28th and burial followed in the Dixon Springs Cemetery. Eld. Barney Allison officiated at the 1 p.m. services.

One of nine children of the late Bernard Thurman and Jerrine Ardelle Goad Dycus, he was born Barry Lee Dycus in the Willette Community of Macon County on October 28, 1935. On September 14, 1956 he was united in marriage to Ruby Frances Dias. Also a cattleman, he had several farms located in Smith, Trousdale and Macon counties. He was a 1954 graduate of Red Boiling High School where he was active in the agricultural studies.

Preceding him in death were: siblings Glyn and Hugh Dycus and William Bernard Dycus, who died as an infant; son Edward Kimble “Kimmie” Dycus.

Surviving in addition to his wife of over fifty six years is a daughter, Hartsville Nurse Practitioner Beth Dycus Oldham and husband Donnie of Dixon Springs; son, Ronnie Dycus also of Dixon Springs; two sisters, Betty Huffines and husband Harold of Willette, Frances Hudson and husband Billy of Kempville; three brothers, Paul Dycus and wife Louann of Lebanon, Walter Dycus and wife Linda of Waverly, David Dycus and wife Kim of Lafayette; granddaughter, Amber White; great-grandchild, Grayson Perkins; two sisters-in-law, Janice Dycus of Gallatin and Hilda Dycus of Red Boiling Springs.
