Mr. James Fletcher of the Gladdice Community died at 1:58 a.m. Monday morning March 4, 2013 at the Catherine Street home of his son in Murfreesboro at the age of 69 with all his children at his bedside and under the loving care of Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro.

Graveside services and interment were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning March 5th from the Draper Cemetery on Wartrace Creek with Bro. Jeff Burton officiating.

Mr. Fletcher was born James Oscar Fletcher on August 13, 1943 in Covington in Kenton County, Kentucky and was one of six children of the late William Harrison Fletcher who died in 1992 and Mattie Smallwood Fletcher who died in 2006.

One sister, Kimberley Fletcher Bajwa, died in December of 2010.

Mr. Fletcher retired from United Airlines in 2002 where he was employed as an airline mechanic for over thirty six years. Following retirement, he purchased a farm on Cooks Lane in Brooks Bend at Gladdice. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Murfreesboro. Mr. Fletcher was a member of the 1961 class of Simon-Kenton High School in Independence, Kentucky.

Surviving are: six children, Greg Fletcher of Sevierville, Derrick Fletcher of Wadsworth, Illinois, Jett Fletcher and wife Tracey of Whitwell, TN, Shannon Fletcher and wife Janette of Murfreesboro, Karrena Fletcher of Surprise, Arizona, Michelle Leslie and husband Tobin of Phoenix, Arizona; four sisters, Mildred Rose and husband Billy of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Ellen Ball and husband Jim of Covington, Kentucky, Ruby Malott and husband Jimmy, Catherine Roth and husband Frank all of Demossville, Kentucky; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
