The ballot deadline for candidates in the Red Boiling Springs City Elections passed at noon on Thursday, January 17. Now the only men who are on the ballot for the April 27th election are incumbents: Bobby Etheridge for City Mayor, Billy Joe Carver for City Council, George McCrary for City Council, and Willie Brown for City Council.

“I don’t think it will be a very contested election,” said Administrator of Elections Barry Doss. If anyone wishes to qualify as a write-in candidate, they still have time to do so. The deadline for these petitions will be March 8. On election day, voters would have to know the write-in candidates names to vote for them.

More information about early voting, etc., will be released closer to April’s election date. “If for some reason nobody else qualifies as a write-in, and there are no referendums to vote on, I don’t think by law I even have to have early voting,” said Doss.
