Mona Ray Birdwell, age 76, of Lafayette and formerly of Clay County, TN passed away Monday evening, January 14, 2013 at the Westmoreland Care & Rehab in Westmoreland, TN. Funeral Services for Mona Ray Birdwell were conducted Thursday afternoon, January 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN with Dewayne Fox officiating. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Her family and friends served as pallbearers.

Mona was born Tuesday, September 22, 1936 in Clay County, TN, the daughter of the late Earl and Iva Mercer Ray. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Scotty Hawkins and son-in-law, Noel “Square” Copas. She was a garment factory worker.

Survivors include: devoted companion, Harold Howser, Lafayette, daughters, Janice Copas, Hermitage Springs Community, June Pace and husband, Bobby of Ahoskie, North Carolina, son, Dale Hawkins, Hermitage Springs Community, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
