A 21-year-old man was ejected from the passenger side window of his truck during an accident on the Hwy 10 hill Thursday. Leland Yoes, of Springfield, TN, was traveling north just outside of Lafayette when the wet road caused him to lose control and cross three traffic lanes, striking the rock embankment on the opposite side of the road.

Yoes, who was unrestrained, was thrown through the passenger window before the 2000 GMC Sierra pickup truck bounced back to the other side of the road, struck the guardrail, and came to rest.

Sgt. Ed Crouch of TN Highway Patrol, who wrote the accident report, said that Yoes was taken to Sumner Regional Hospital with nothing more serious than a broken wrist.

On the passenger-side ejection, Crouch commented, “The laws of physics do crazy stuff.”
