Last Tuesday, the Macon County High School Tigerettes and Tigers did battle against the Gordonsville Tigers. Gordonsville was still excited about winning the state championship in football and seemed to think beating Macon County was going to be a walk in the park. However, both Macon County teams showed they weren’t easy to defeat, as both teams won in very close games!

The Tigerettes started off festivites by playing a rough and tough Gordsonville Tigerettes team. It was a battle of the Tigerettes! However, Macon County proved they were the queens of the jungle by slipping by Gordonsville 66-57! The Tigerettes had great offensive power!

Macon County came out in the first half on fire. It seemed we couldn’t miss! However, the Gordonsville Tigerettes also were a sharpshooting team, as they hit a lot of their shots as well. The game was close at the end of the half. Gordonsville looked as if they would cause Macon County to fall.

The second half Macon County came out and played some great basketball. They passed the ball well and limited turnovers and fouls. The Tigers left Gordonsville scrambling to react, and they couldn’t react in time. Kelsey Gregory seemed to make three’s all night long. She could do it in her sleep! After Macon County clamped down on defense and lit up the scoreboard with their scoring, Gordonsville couldn’t keep up. Macon County rolled on to a victory 68-61.
