After the RBS Jr. Lady Dawgs took down Jackson Co., the Red Boiling Springs Jr. High Bulldogs took them on. The Bulldogs had won almost all their games this year by large numbers, many were wondering if they could win the close games. RBSJH would silence their critics by beating Jackson County by two points in what would prove to be a classic match!

The first quarter looked to be a tough quarter as RBSJH only had 3 points, courtesy of Dzickiewiez. Jackson County, instead of pouncing on the opportunity, only put up 5 points, and led 5-3 after one quarter of play. The second quarter was an interesting quarter, as both teams put up 11 points! If one team went down and scored, the other would soon follow. The score at halftime was 16-14 Jackson County.

After the half, RBSJH came out firing on all cylinders. They only scored 4 points in the third quarter. However, the defense only allowed 2 by Jackson County! After the third buzzer rang, the score was all knotted up at 18! The fourth quarter would turn out to be a very interesting quarter. The Bulldogs scored 7 points in this quarter, and the defense held Jackson to 5. When Jackson County had the ball at the end of the game, the Bulldogs clamped down on defense and didn’t allow a shot to get off in time! The final score was 25-23 Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs leading scorer was Long. Long had 9 points and hit a deep three. Long also shot perfect from the free throw line (2-2) and picked up 3 defensive rebounds and an assist! Anderson also 2 steals and three boards.

The Red Boiling Springs Jr. High Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs next week of games will be December 6 at Trousdale County and December 10 in an inner-county battle against Macon County at home.
