Bethel Worship Center host to Food Bank event

On Friday, November 30, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee visited Lafayette as part of UnitedHealthCare’s “Do Good. Live Well.” initiative. The Food Bank event was held at the Bethel Family Worship Center, where staff and volunteers sorted, packaged, and distributed food to registered Second Harvest clients.

According to UnitedHealthcare and Second Harvest reps, the project is meant to fight hunger, diabetes, and obesity. UnitedHealthcare is funding 40 Mobile Pantry events throughout Middle and West Tennessee, providing assistance to approximately 10,000 hungry children, families, and seniors.
