Tennessee School For the Blind will present a free Chorus Christmas Concert for the public on Thursday, December 6th at 6:00 PM in the Macon County Jr. High School auditorium. This holiday celebration is sponsored by the Lion’s Club, organizers say, as a way of giving back to Macon County for all their support during the past year.
The Tennessee School for the Blind is state run school, the only one of its kind in all of Tennessee. Legally blind students between the ages of 3 and 22 are eligble to attend, and it currently serves about 150 students. It is located in the Donelson area, just east of Nashville, but students there come from cities and rural areas all over Tennessee. Students whose families are not local board at the school.
The school choir consists of about twenty students, and fifteen of these will be performing here on Thursday. They perform around twenty off-campus concerts each year, for churches, conferences, businesses, and Lion’s Clubs.
