Dear Editor,

There are so many things in life to be grateful for. The gift of family life. A loving wife and children, father and mother in law, and loving wife’s family. Our home and everything we have has been given to us by God. He deserves all our praise. One may work long and hard hours. But God gives us the health and strength to work. Every breath, every step we take comes from God’s grace.

I remember Peter Marshall and the grateful heart. Lord I look back on the way thou has brought me, the day which I have been saved, and thy loving mercies, let me meditate upon the dark nights that I have come, and the hard times, and things we’ve been through, and have a grateful heart. I thank thee Lord that in your loving mercy, so many things we feared never came to pass. Fill our hearts with thankful praise. Help us to repay by being good to others. May the memories of sorrows that disciplined us keep us humble; make us all be grateful. In the words of the great hymns: “Come, ye thankful people, come, and count your blessings, see what God has done.”

In memory of two sweet grandmothers, Grace Young Delands, and Margaret A. Fleet.
