Last Saturday morning, Heavenly Hands and Lafayette Church of God partnered up to stage “Mission LCOG 300.” This event was titled from a combination of the church’s name and the number of people they planned to help. They provided sack lunches and free coats and clothes to anyone who came by. At the same time, there was live music, a church service with Pastor Mike Carson, a youth service with Pastor Richard Banks, and children’s services with puppet skits and sing alongs, hot cocoa, coffee, and baked goods served.

The inspiration for this event, as cited, was scripture passage James 2:15-16: “If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for hte body, what does it profit?”
