Fred W. “Rip” Brooks age 77 of Hendersonville passed away Wednesday October 31, 2012. Funeral service was Friday November 2nd at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Ottis Jones officiating. Burial followed in Macon County Memorial Gardens with Andy Minor, Reid Brooks, Jeremy Lampley, Dewayne Brooks, Todd Wagoner, W.C. Smith, Stanley Cummins and Carl Poole serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Humboldt Express employees, Tom Bannen employees, Doug Davis and Everett Carrick.

He was born on October 5, 1935 in Macon County Tennessee son of Virgil and Deliah White Brooks. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by twin infant sons David Keith Brooks and Daniel Scott Brooks.

He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Hendersonville where he served as Trustee. He married Sylvia Dean Tuck on December 22, 1954 who survives.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Barry Brooks and wife Bari of White House, TN, Gary Brooks and wife Susan of Castalian Springs, TN, Bryan Brooks and wife Andria of Atlanta, GA, daughter, Deborah Sanders and husband Gene of Ashland City, TN, brother, Billy Brooks and wife Cathy of Lafayette, sister, Virginia Doss of Hendersonville, grandchildren, Andy Minor, Candi Lampley and husband Jeremy, Senior Airman Julie Shearon and Reid Brooks, great grandchildren Christian, Destiny and Karrissa Lampley.
