Diabetes Health Fair

FREE Flu Shots

HOPE Family Health in Westmoreland is providing free flu shots to uninsured patients through a grant partnership with The Community Foundation. These will be given Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, no appointment needed. Until Supplies last, through the end of November.

Macon County 2012 Property Tax notices have been mailed. The Two Percent discount is available in October and One Percent in November. If you have not received your bill notify your local Post Office. You can also call the Trustee’s Office at 615-666-3624.

Commodity Distribution

The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a commodities distribution for Macon County, Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the UCHRA County Office located at 607 Highway 52 By-Pass in Lafayette. Everyone must present a valid UCHRA commodity card in order to receive commodities.

Miss RBS Beauty Pageant

The Miss Red Boiling Springs Beauty Pageant will be held Sat. Nov 3rd in the gym at the high school. The pageant will begin at 6:00 pm with the Jr High Pageant and conclude with the high school pageant following. the theme this year is Miss RBS “Leaves Me Breathless.” All previous pageant winners will be announced from 1992 to the 2012 year.

7th Annual FCE Holiday Taster

The Family and Community Educators of Macon County will be hosting the 7th annual Holiday Taster. The menu this year will be pasta. The Taster will be held on Saturday, November 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the Sally Wells Building, Macon County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $7.00 and need be purchased in advance at the UT Extension Office. RBS Christmas Parade

The 2012 Red Boiling Springs Nighttime Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 6 pm. Entry form and guidelines are available online at http://www.vision2020inc.com/, Red Boiling Springs City Hall, The Palace, local banks, and the Macon County Chamber of Commerce. Entry deadline is November 21st.

Doyle Pruitt Benefit Singing

There will be a benefit singing for Doyle Pruitt at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Saturday, November 10 at 6 pm. Singers will include the Happy Hearts and others to be announced. Bro. Doyle is in need of medical care and is un-insurable. Everyone please come and help out and enjoy the wonderful singing.
