Macon County Soccer League Fall 2012 Season

Week 3 Report (October 6th)

U4 Division

The games got underway on the U4 field at 9:00 am with Jessica Wolhgamuth’s silver team taking on the royal blue team of Holly Wix. The final score was a 20-12 win for the royal blue team. Scoring for silver was Wyatt Walrond with all 12 goals. Scoring for royal blue was Jake Meador with all 20 of their goals. Coach Wix reported “It was very cold today, but the kids did very well.

In the 9:30 am time slot, the white team of Mark Newberry won 1-0 over the black team of Corey Fitzpatrick by way of a forfiet.

The 10:00 am game featured the red team of Donnie Crawford taking on the kelly green team of Jason Marsh. The final score was a 23-6 win for the red team. Scoring for kelly green was Ariana Jones with 3 goals and Bryce Hammock with 3 goals. Coach Marsh said, “The kids had fun and both scored some goals.” Scoring for red was Bradlyn Leftrick with 12 goals and Bradley Crawford with 11 goals.

U6 Division

The 9:00 am game had the silver team of Jarhea Wilmore taking on the royal blue team of Kim Cook. The final result was a 8-3 win for the silver team. Scoring for silver was Mattie Goad with 3 goals, Matthew Wheeley with 3 goals, and Gracey Wilmore with 2 goals. Coach Wilmore said, “Great offense from Mattie Goad, Matthew Wheeley, and Gracey Wilmore. Great defense from Dylan Moore, Luke Linville, and Abi Augustin. So proud of the silver team. It was cold but they played like it was hot! Great job!”

In the 9:45 am game, the black team of Jay Green took on the white team of Jimmy Hardin. The final score was a 6-0 win for the black team. Scoring for black was Kameron Gregory with 2 goals, Leah Dickerson with 3 goals, and Wyatt Wells with 1 goal. Coach Green said “The whole team played great.”

10:30 am saw the red team of Seth Blankenship take on the kelly green team of Daniel Griggs. The final score was a 7-2 win for the kelly green team. Scoring for red was Casen Austin with 2 goals. Scoring for the kelly green team was Braylon Flowers with 4 goals, Valerie Kirby with 2 goals, and Kasen Roark with 1 goal. Coach Griggs reported “Braylon Flowers, Valerie Kirby, and Kasen Roark were great on offense while Vanessa Kirby, Brenton Powell, and Bree Griggs were awesome on defense!

U8 Division

The 9:00 am kickoff on the U8 field had Laura Ward’s red team take on the white team of Troy Brewer. The final score was a 5-0 win for the red team. Scoring for red was Macy Meador with 3 goals, Emily Ward with 1 goal, and Caden Cook with 1 goal. Coach Ward said “The team played great today.”

The kelly green team of Kristin Walrond took on the royal blue team of Bryan Morgan in the 9:45 am time slot. The final score was a 4-1 win for the royal blue team. Scoring for kelly green was Emma Linville with 1 goal. Coach Walrond said “Everyone did a great job!”

U12 Division

The action got underway at 9:00 am with the red team of Melissa Grizzle taking on the royal blue team of Joel McFerrin. The final score was a 6-1 win for the royal blue team. Scoring for red was Hunter Carver with 1 goal. Coach Grizzle said “We have some adjustments to make as a team but great effort by everyone on the team.” Scoring for royal blue was Micheal Hernandez with 2 goals, Jamie Ashburn with 1 goal, Dillon McFerrin with 1 goal, Clay West with 1 goal, and Emily Ashburn with 1 goal. Coach McFerrin said “Tyler Jones, Lawson Williamson, Hannah Keene, and Kailen Donaho all played a great game!”

The 10:30 am match between Brian Wolhgamuth’s white team and the black team of Manuel Nunez ended as a 1-0 win for the black team by forfeit.

The 12:00 pm game was between the kelly green team of Ronda Paredes and the silver team of Erica Woodard. The final score was a 8-3 win for the kelly green team. Scoring for silver was Logan Duncan with 2 goals and Ryan Underwood with 1 goal. Coach Woodard said “Great effort!”

U18 Division

The 10:30 am time slot in the U18 division featured the black team of Brian Carter take on the silver team of Chris and Terra Grant. The final score was a 6-2 win for the black team. Scoring for the silver team was Mayson Shrum with 2 goals. Coach Grant said “Our team never quit. I was very proud of all of them.”

The game at high noon featured the red team of David Denney taking on the kelly green team of Steve Dell’Aquila. The final score was a 4-1 win for the red team. Scoring for red was Brandon Wells with 2 goals, Daniel Ashburn with 1 goal, and Michael Ashburn with 1 goal. Coach Denney summarized, “Our team performed well today. We played a much more relaxed game and we converted our chances. Jose Hernandez had a good game in goal. Sam Denney, Jessie Overstreet, Bryanna Winsett, and Logan McDeid played well in defense. Dylan Turner, Brianna Mauss, Michael Ashburn, Aaron Jones, and Jesse Denney played well in mid field. Brandon Wells and Daniel Ashburn performed well up front.”
