On Friday, September 28th, the Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs took on the talented Gordonsville Tigers. The Bulldogs would take a hard loss, getting smashed 54-7 by Gordonsville. The Tigers had a small boost because it was their Homecoming.

The game started terribly for RBS. Gordonsville would run in a 50 yard touchdown just a few minutes into the game, making it 7-0. However, Gordonsville wouldn’t stop there. They would also run in a 1 yard and a 16 yard run, both for touchdowns. However, RBS would block a point after attempt, making it 20-0 Gordonsville at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Gordonsville got even more brutal. First, they would run in a 67 yard run and get the two point conversion. Next, they would run in a 4 yard TD run and miss the extra point. Finally, the Tigers would run in a 36 yard TD run and add on the extra point, which made it 41-0 at halftime.

The third quarter would show the Bulldogs only touchdown of the game. It would be a 2 yard touchdown run by Ty Tuck after an impressive drive. However, Gordonsville answered back with a 51 yard TD run, making it 48-7 at the end of the third.

The fourth quarter was quiet. The only points scored were a 64 yard TD run by Gordonsville. However, the extra point attempt failed, and the final was 54-7 Gordonsville.

Now that the Bulldogs toughest opponent is out of the way, the Dawgs are ready to bounce back against Monterey at home. Monterey is coming off a close win against Jackson County, and I’m sure they are hoping to coast to victory against RBS Friday. The Bulldogs are going to make sure they don’t! Come out to Red Boiling and support your Bulldogs as they try to improve to 4-3 on the season!
