CCHS FBLA Wins National Competition

Members of the Clay County High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended the FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas on June 29th-July 2nd. While there, state winners competed in national level events.

Students also attended career and college readiness workshops. Members in attendance were Scottie Ballard, Jacqueline West, Makala McLerran, Andrew Meadows, Elizabeth Copeland, Jesse Copeland, and Chelsea Copass. Students were joined by their advisor, Amy Dodson, along with Melissa Copeland and former FBLA member Philip Birdwell.

Elizabeth Copeland participated in the Business Procedures competition. Elizabeth is the daughter of Dr. J. Lee and Melissa Copeland. She is the first CCHS student to compete on the national level all four years. Andrew Meadows, son of Jody and Pam Meadows, placed 8th in the Business Math competition. Andrew is the first national winner to represent Clay County FBLA.

After the competitions, students enjoyed a trip to the Alamo, the RiverWalk, Sea World San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
