Last Friday, the Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs looked to start the season 2-0 as they took on the Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Saints. In a punch down, drag out game, the Bulldogs were able to defeat the Saints soundly by a score of 39-25 and become 2-0 for the fourth time in school history!

Both teams were trading blows like prize fighters. The Saints scored in the first quarter and made it 7-0. At the beginning of the second quarter, the Bulldogs clawed and pounded their way up the middle for a score. After

missing the extra point, the score was 7-6 Mt. Juliet.

Later in the second, the Bulldogs lit the scoreboard up. Ty Tuck ran in a touchdown, and A.J Dale converted the 2 point conversion to make it 14-7 RBS!

The Bulldogs would go on to score two more touchdowns in the second quarter, one being a “ground and pound” up the middle by Terrence Alexander. After that, Alexander decided to show he wasn’t just a bulldozer by running in an 82 yard touchdown! The Bulldogs would miss the extra point, and the score was 27-7. After smart clock management, the Saints would score a touchdown to make it 27-14 at the end of half.

The Saints came out after the half hot. In a matter of minutes, they would drive down the field and score a touchdown and convert a two point conversion to make it 27-22.

As if on cue, Terrence Alexander fought his way in for another touchdown, his third of the night! RBS would miss the point after and the score was 33-22.

After a stop on defense, RBS got the ball back and scored shortly afterwards. They missed the extra point and made it 39-22. The Saints marched down the field, and it looked like they were going to score again. The Bulldogs defense tightened up, though, and only allowed a field goal, making it 39-25.

Neither the Bulldogs nor the Saints would score in the fourth quarter, and the Bulldogs held on for the win 39-25!
