Hello everybody from Golden Oaks. How is everyone at this time? Most residents are about the same, up doing what they do each day. Some residents stay home, they need help each day, but it great they can still stay home and enjoy life as they are, they are strong people. Take care and have a great week.

Tom Turner has returned home from Royal Care Nursing Home in Westmoreland. We are proud to have him back at Golden Oaks, we have missed him. Have a great week.

Barbara Scott has returned back home at Golden Oaks from the Hartsville Convalescent Center. Daughter Janet Hiland is so proud to have her back home. We missed her. Have a great week and take care.

At this time Fonnie Hissong is doing some better. We are proud she is back home. Take care and have a great week.

Hazel Wests sister, Roxie Fishburn, is about the same. We wish her the best and good health. Have a great week.

Golden Oaks Birthday Dinner 08/23/2012

Those attended were Juanita White, Sarah Sidilee, Beulah Murray, Hazel West, Jeanelle Holland, Debbie Dorris, Alma Dallas, Donnie Napier, Dwight Gregory, James Thurman, Ferrell Dotson, Sylvia Laycoch, Terry Masson, Connie Gann and Rick Gann. We had lots of delicious food including the chicken. After lunch we played bingo, everyone won a prize, Beulah won overall with a $10.00 Wal-Mart card. Rick Gann said the blessing. Everybody enjoyed the time together. Connie always makes it a fun day for everybody. Thanks to everyone, have a great week.

We just can’t believe summer is all most gone. It’s been a great time. It was hot Friday and Saturday. Times are great all and all. We had good vegetables to eat. Some people don’t enjoy cooking but I do. I’m proud I do. I would like to say thanks to the people who gave me vegetables and fruit to eat. I planted turnips in my flowerbed, I got them too thick. Maybe some will make it. I tried. If we don’t try, we can’t have. Sometimes we try too hard and don’t have. We just keep trying!

Carolyn Bradley, my neighbor across the street, I gave her three tomato slips. She shared her tomatoes with me, they were the small tomatoes. They are so good. She had enough to give her son Jessie and Family some to eat. That was nice. Carolyn has one grandson, he is enjoys visiting his grandma, he sure is a sweetie.

At this time, my grandson, Eric, is having trouble with his teeth. He is getting them fixed, I am so proud of him. He knows grandma thinks of him. Eric works everyday and that is great. Take care and I love you.

Saturday morning was cool. I went out on my little porch and had my coffee and watched my pretty little hummingbirds. I had five this morning. Vera was up, she had her door open, she can see them at the feeders. She enjoys them, also she enjoys my flowers. Vera watches out for me, I do for her also. It’s nice to have someone that cares.

Then more residents were up and out doing laundry, some out walking their dogs. It’s always someone out early and late, that is great. I had a quite day at home, I skipped breakfast again, maybe sometime I can go again with my friends. I talked on the phone. That is a good way to pass the time. I had a nice phone call from my friend Ethel Becker, she said she was feeling better, that is great.

Some Golden Oak walkers are still trying to just walk some everyday. It’s nice to see residents walking. Have a nice week.

At this time all residents are back home all except Ruth Bradley. We hope she will soon be back home with good health.

I guess it’s about time to say Good Night again. Alson wish each and every one a great week.
