Free Medicare Help
SHIP/SMP representatives from the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging & Disability will be at Macon County Senior Center on September 5, 12, 19 from 1 pm until 3 pm to help counsel on any Medicare questions, abuse or concerns. Please contact SHIP at 1-877-801-0044 for an appointment or questions. SHIP/SMP covers all 14 Upper Cumberland Counties.
Citizens Police Academy
The 15th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Lafayette Police Department will be hosting a Citizens Police Academy at the new 911 center titled “What You Need to Know about the Courts and Drugs.” It will start Wednesday, August the 15th from 6 pm to 8 pm and will be 4 consecutive Wednesdays. Macon County Hunter Education Class
Class will be held Aug 27, 28, 30, and 31 at the MCJH Auditorium, from 6-9 pm each day. Park at the back of school. This class is free. Bring social security number, must be at least 9 years old. Mayhew Family Reunion
The Mayhew Family Reunion will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Stony Point United Methodist Church in Allen County, KY. The regular church service will be at 11:00 AM. The reunion will follow at 12:30 with a potluck lunch, group photos and fellowship.

Senior Center Dance
Macon County Senior Center will host a dance Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 7-10PM. Featuring Bobby Luck, Billy Canter, Morris Bobbett. Finger foods, pot luck admission will be $5.00. Everyone welcome.
Youth Beauty Contest
August 25th at the Trousdale County Youth and Community Fair. Open to girls ages 0-11 and boys 0-4. Each participant receives a trophy. Dixon Springs Icecream Social

Red Boiling Springs Labor Day Events
Saturday, September 1 will be a day of festivities in RBS. Annual Duck Day Festival begins in the Palace Park at 7 AM with the Duck Race at 2 PM. Hosted by the RBS Lions Club. Food, games, crafts, prizes, and a dunking booth. Adopt a duck for $5.00 at Macon Bank in RBS or from any Lions Club Member, with prizes awarded for race, as well as drawings.
Labor Day celebration with fireworks will begin at dark at Palace Care and Rehab, with live music by Shattered Silence. Also hosted by RBS Fire Dept. and Vision 2020.
