Erlene Russell, age 82, of Gallatin passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012. Funeral Service were Tuesday, July 24th at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Russell and Elder Joe Porter officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park with Scott Russell, Chris Smith, Jonathan Hall, Brannon Smith, Mike Smith and Dewayne Hall serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers wre members of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Russell was born August 26, 1929 in Sumner County, TN daughter of the late M. T. and Nancy Frances Brown Scruggs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cordis Lee “Dee” Russell, Sr. She is survived by her children, Gail Stone, Cordis L. Russell, Jr. (Connie) and Tina Smith (Mike) all of Gallatin; grandchildren, Sherry Hall (DeWayne) of Bethpage, Sheila Stone of Gallatin, Scott Russell (Lindsay) of Gallatin, Chris Smith of Portland and Brannon Smith of Gallatin; great grandchildren, Jonathan Lee Hall, Ella Grace Russell and Aniston Faith Russell; aunt, Edith Butts (Robert) of Gallatin. Mrs. Russell worked at Genesco, was a dispatcher at Mid-Cumberland Transit in Gallatin and was a beautician and owner of Triangle Beauty Shop.
