Christie Kernell Newberry, age 40, of Red Boiling Springs, TN passed away Monday morning, July 9, 2012 at the Macon County General Hospital ER in Lafayette. Memorial Services for Christie Kernell Newberry were conducted Friday afternoon, July 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Red Boiling Springs with Jack Honeycutt officiating. Interment followed in the Smith Chapel Cemetery.
Christie was born Tuesday, January 25, 1972 in Jackson County, Tennessee, one of two siblings born to Roy and Helen Lynn Kernell of Red Boiling Springs. On August 3, 1990, she married Steve Newberry, who survives. Her son, Cody Newberry and father-in-law, Bruce Newberry preceded her in death. Christie was a former employee of Macon County General Hospital in the House Keeping Department.
Survivors besides her husband, Steve and parents, Roy & Helen include: son & daughter-in-law, Kevin & Crystal Newberry, grandchildren, Curtis, Kylie and Kolton Newberry, sister & brother-in-law, Sherri & Chris McDonald, mother-in-law, Judy Hawkins, brother-in-law, Mark Newberry, sister-in-law, Stephanie Newberry all of Red Boiling Springs, nieces, Kalista McDonald, Red Boiling Springs, Salena Miller & Cheyene Miller, Livingston, nephews, Cameron (Brandy) McDonald, Lafayette, Dakota Newberry, Gainesboro.
