Macon County Public Library’s Story Time gang got a treat Tue., June 19 when 9-year-old Bryli Nichols

came to read them Lilly, the book she wrote herself.

Miss Nichols, who is a Story Time alumna, also gave the library and each of the children a copy of Lilly, the story of a dog who lives in a hotel, is a ballerina, and has an active social life with her many friends. The book includes color illustrations by Eileen Herb-Witte.

The author was able to have Lilly printed with a loan from her grandmother Kathy Eden, owner of Frame-It Art and Gift Gallery. That loan has been repaid through book sales and Miss Nichols is now in the black.

A budding entrepreneur, Miss Nichols also has her own business crafting headbands, necklaces – even shoes! – from colorful duct tape and selling them to her friends.

While library staff would love to take credit for Bryli Nichols, she is in fact the daughter of Brandy and Bryan Nichols and the sister of Bryce, an artist in his own right.
