Margaret Williams Gregory, of the Union Camp Community, passed away Monday morning, June 11, 2012 at Knollwood Manor, at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 4 days. Funeral services for Margaret Gregory were conducted on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Anderson and Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Brother Mike Carver and Brother Kevin Slayton officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Robert Denson, James “Bubba” Day, Rondell Harp, Jerry Carver, Donnie Bowman and Donnie Brown.

Margaret was born on March 7, 1916, one of six siblings born to the late Nathaniel Macon and Laura Bell Jenkins Williams. She was married to William Ethley Gregory, who preceded her in death on February 12, 1997. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her five brothers, Carley, Elster, Paul, Ted and J.B. Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Camp Missionary Baptist Church, where she held the honor of being the oldest member. She is survived by a grandson and his wife, Chris and Tracy Gregory of Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Emily Gregory of Lafayette, and Robert (Sara) Denson of Clarksville; her nieces, Dorothy Williams of Lafayette, Lucille Berlin and Laura Stites, both of California; a nephew, Paul Williams, of California; and special neighbors, J.D. and Fay Smith and Heather Day and Family, all of Lafayette; and a host of friends and loved ones.
