The 13th annual Hwy 52 Yard Sale is in full throttle all day Friday and Saturday of this weekend. The sale stretches 95 miles from Portland to Celina. People come from all over Tennessee and out of state to participate, both as buyers and sellers.

Yard-salers should be aware of safety hazards as they hunt bargains. Parking too close to the road or driving erratically because of distraction can both be major causes of accidents on yard sale days.

Sellers should be sure to get permission from property owners before setting up. They are also advised that if they desire to sell food, they will need a permit; the Health Department is sending four employees to visit stands and issue permits in the early morning. Contact the Macon County Chamber of Commerce for more information.
