The Macon County Tigers send six players to the All District teams. Senior Andrew Kempf and Junior Ian Whittemore make the First team All District squad and Juniors Austin Taft and Dalton Shrum, Sophomore Austin Craighead and Freshman Larkin Whittemore make the All District Second Team.
The Tennessee AA District 9 Tournament kicked off Thursday night at White House High School. The first game saw Westmoreland losing to Greenbrier by a final score of 11 - 4 and in the second game the Macon County Tigers squared off with the Sycamore War Eagles. The Tigers were beaten twice in the regular season by Sycamore although the Tigers played the War Eagle tough in both games losing at home 5 - 4, and losing on the road 9 - 5. This one game play in tournament match up wouldn’t live up to hype as the Macon County Tigers failed to show up and only managed one hit in the game and were run ruled 10 - 0 in the shortened five inning match up.
Sycamore pitcher Brett Waller pitched the complete game shut out, holding the Tigers to one hit while striking out seven Macon County hitters and walking just one. Ian Whittemore singled in the fourth inning and Larkin Whittemore walked in the fifth becoming the Tigers only two baserunners of the game.
Sycamore put up their ten runs on eleven hits, three walks, and two Macon County errors.
