Three individuals were arrested on Sunday night after an investigation uncovered what officers say are a lab in the process of producing methamphetamine as well as several ingredients used in the drug’s production.

“Deputy Josh Smith received information that Theresa Czapla was manufacturing meth at her residence at 1532 Wilmore Hollow Road,” said Det. Donnie Crawford with the Macon County Sheriff’s Department.

Det. Crawford says Czapla is on state probation for several charges.

Officers from the Macon County Sheriff’s Department went to the residence, where they located 35-year-old Czapla, along with two males, Brian Carter,26, and Alvin Newberry, 41.

It was discovered that Carter had been reported as a missing person out of Trousdale County.

Additionally, Newberry was also found to have warrants for his arrest for violation of probation.

“Upon entering the property, we located two male subjects coming from the creek, which was Brian Carter and Mr. Newberry. We took them into custody. I observed them drop something on the ground. When I went to look to find out what it was, it was a two-liter Sprite bottle with salt in the bottom and a tube coming out the end. After further investigation, we also located on the creek bank another bottle that was in the cooking method of one-pot shake and bake,” said Crawford.

“We also located within the residence, lithium batteries, acetone, Coleman fuel, all which are consistent with that coming from a meth lab.”

All three suspects were apprehended and transported to the Macon County Jail.

They were charged with one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and intent to manufacture methamphetamine, as well as one count each of reckless endangerment because a 14-month-old child was discovered at the residence.

Additionally, Newberry was charged with one violation of probation.

Bond was set at $60,000 for each suspect, all three of which are scheduled to appear in Macon County General Sessions Court on 5/23. Newberry is also scheduled to appear in court for his violation of probation charge on March 28.
