Barbara Juanita Melton Cain, age 78, of Tompkinsville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.

She was born April 11, 1933 in Cumberland County, Ky. to the late Benjamin Melton and Lela J. Anderson Melton. She was a retired factory worker for Key Manufacturing and a member of the Church of Christ. She was united in marriage to Marion Cain, Jr. in August 1958.

She is survived by her husband, Marion Cain, Jr. of Tompkinsville, two daughters and sons-in-law, Brookie and Charles Welch of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., Gay and Billy Joe Botts of Tompkinsville, two sisters Wilma Anderson of Tompkinsville, Fay Daniel of Burkesville, Ky., two brothers, James Melton of Boulder, Co., Lonnie Melton of Pueblo, Co., three grandchildren, Sandy Rich of Lafayette, Tammy Pippen and husband Shane of Red Boiling Springs, Beverly Draper of Tompkinsville, five great grandchildren, Bradley Rich and wife Erin of Sydney, Australia, Kelly Russell and husband Ethan of Lafayette, Madison and Hailey Pippen of Red Boiling Springs, D.J. Draper of Tompkinsville, and one great-great grandchild, Bella Russell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Ervin Melton and two sisters, Betty Mae Spears Cravens and Annie Melton.

Funeral services were conducted Tue., Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in the Gamaliel Cemetery. Dr. Fowler Ross officiated. Pallbearers were: Paul England, Willie England, David Graves, Joe Anderson, John Taylor and Robin Reno. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
