Tuesday, November 11, 6:30 p.m., at the Anderson's Community Center.
The community center is on Highway 52, next to the Anderson's Funeral
Home. There will be a discussion on The Young American's workshop
scheduled for February 8,9, and 10. Also on the agenda will be a look
at the events already scheduled for 2009.
The program for the meeting is entitled “Growth of an Artist”. It is
a visual presentation by Linda Johnson of her
development as an artist.
Linda, whose work is part of the collections of such well-known places
as Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and Cheekwood, has put together a
slide show of her more outstanding pieces. She explains how the pieces
were conceived and developed. Linda presented a version of the slide
show recently to the high school art students at both Red Boiling
Springs and Macon County High School and was very well-received.
MCAC would like to encourage everyone interested in the arts to attend
the quarterly meetings. This is the time when you can make suggestions
to improve our organization, and perhaps find an area of interest
within the arts council that you might like to pursue. MCAC is always
appreciative of new ideas and suggestions. For more information call
644-5179.
