This event is to be held Nov 8th, 2008 at the Macon County EMS building off Hwy 52 W in Lafayette. It will be from 9 am until 5 pm. We are currently taking donations of arts, crafts, or any new items we can sell at this wonderful event. If you want to volunteer please contact us. Teen Art Classes
Register now for art classes for teens ages 12 thru 18. Vol State plans alumni fun at homecoming basketball game
Alumni are invited back to the Volunteer State Community College campus to show their Pioneer pride during Homecoming events on Saturday, November 15. It starts at 1 p.m. with a hospitality room for alumni, which will include refreshments, and photos and memorabilia from past years. At 2 p.m. the Vol State Women's Team will take on Cleveland State. There will be an alumni recognition after that game, and then at 4 p.m. the Pioneer Men's Team will take on Cleveland State. It all finishes with an Alumni Bash reception featuring music. Westmoreland UMC Annual Supper & Auction
On November 15, 2008, the Westmoreland United Methodist Church, located at 1101 Park Street, will have its annual supper and auction. The “all you can eat” pot luck meal will be prepared by the church members and the cost for adults is $6; $3 for those under 12. Serving begins at 5:00 PM and the auction, for which there is no admission, begins at approximately 6:00 p.m.. A featured item this year is a 42” oak table, over 50 years old, with a beveled glass custom top. This table was owned by Marguerite Law. There will be lots of baked goods (some of which will be sold on silent auction), crafts and other items donated by members and local merchants.
