It is double-billed as the celebration of Cyclemos Second Grand Opening, with the recent addition of a 7,500 square ft. restoration shop completed this past summer.
In addition to Silvio's own collection of historic and antique motorcycles, Cyclemos will be displaying a portion of Dale Walkser's world famous Wheels Through Time collection, on loan from the famous Maggie Valley, NC emporium of two-wheel transportation.
Walkser's collection is so impressive that it draws 500,000 visitors each year to the western North Carolina mountain resort town.
Silvio has designs on success and popularity equal to or rivaling the better known Wheels Through Time museum. As the only motorcycle museum in Tennessee, Cyclemos was also named the most “unique” new business in the region by the Upper Cumberland Business Review.
Vendors for the four day event must pre-register to ensure a space for their merchandise. Overnight camping is available nearby, or out-of-town visitors are invited to stay at one of three local bed and breakfast hotels, on a first come, first served basis. More information on The Thomas House (615-699-3006); The Armour Hotel (615-699-2180); or The Donoho Hotel (615-699-3141) is available at the www.rbstn.com website.
“We're calling it an ‘Old School Swap Meet',” explained Mike Silvio. “There will be parts for sale, a trophy show with classes for all bikes, field games, good food and live music,” the motorcycle enthusiast continued.
Admission for the Sept. 19-21 Show and Swap is $5 per day or $10 for the weekend. For more information call Mike or Jen at 615-699-5049, or e-mail them at cyclemos@nctc.com.
