This coming Friday and Saturday, September 5th & 6th celebrates the 52nd consecutive time the event has been held in Macon County. The Thomas House lawn on the Hotel Road is once again the site, and as many as 500 or more beautiful antique automobiles will assemble for the expected five thousand or more visitors to this unique and wondeful event.
Entries will arrive all day Friday, with our local highways looking for all the world like a scene from a 20's era silent film, or a film noir 1930's Humphrey Bogart classic. Five hundred beautiful old cars, in 63 judging classes will compete for three awards in each class.
Vendors will also set up on Friday, offering antique auto parts and accessories, collectibles, a wide selection of tasty foods and a flea market of always interesting variety.
Registration for antique automobile entries and the flea market begins at 10 a.m. Friday morning, and continues on Saturday morning.
Bring a lawn chair! Let the sense of nostalgia for America's passionate affair with the automobile carry you back in time at this unique local event.
