Sewell Family Reunion

Reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 17th at 12 noon at the Lafayette Church of Christ Fellowship building. Everyone is invited, bring a covered dish.

MCHS Class of 1998 Reunion

The reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Macon County Country Club from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. Cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple.

Bethpage UMC to host ‘Faithweaver Friends'

Bethpage United Methodist Church is hosting "Faithweaver Friends" for all children Kindergarten through 5th grade. This is a fun, free Christian club packed with crafts, music, stories and more. Bethpage UMC Fall Music Festival & Christmas Bazaar

Bethpage United Methodist Church is in need of vendors for their Christmas Bazaar and Fundraiser (indoors) happening on Dec. 6th and Fall Music Festival (outdoors) on October 11th. All proceeds go to benefit the Children's Ministry of BUMC. Booth fees are a flat $45 for an 8x10 space. There will be plenty of advertising for these events. Benefit Auction for Macon Helps

The benefit to assist terminally ill patients will be held Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Sally Wells Building, located on the Fairgrounds at 6:30.

Dinner plates of burgers, hot dogs, chips, and drink is $5.00. All proceeds go to local terminally ill patients. A $50.00 door prize will be awarded. There will also be cakes and pies auctioned off; will yours be the highest bid?

Hope Clinic's Diabetes Patient Education Group

The August meeting of Hope Clinic's "Diabetes Patient Education Group" will be Monday evening, September 15th, 2008 at Hope Clinic in Westmoreland at 12124 Hwy

The Tennessee Traumatic Brain Injury Program

Community Yard Sale at Defeated Creek Campground and Marina

Lost River Cave Big Band Returns to Lafayette

"Lost River Cave Big Band" will perform at Key Park on Saturday, September 6, at 7:00 p.m. The concert, sponsored by the Macon County Arts Council, will be the last in the Concerts in the Park series for 2008. It will be free to the public.

This is the second time the "Lost River Cave Big Band" has visited Key Park. Macon County's own well-known talent, Cherry Cole, will be vocalists for the performance. The conductor will be Dr. John Cipolla from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.

Come, bring your lawn chair, and enjoy this last concert of the season. If it does happen to rain, the band will perform at the Macon County High School auditorium.

Red Cross Opens Three Additional Shelters in Middle Tennessee

The Nashville Area Red Cross opened three additional locations tonight (Mon) to help shelter more than 2,000 evacuees in the Middle Tennessee Area. The American Red Cross is now operating a total of 12 shelters in the Middle Tennessee area. All existing shelters, with the exception of Mount Zion (below) and Lipscomb University have met the full capacity of the facility. Mount Nebo, 2416 Clifton Road, Nashville, TN, Capacity: 80; Mount Zion Baptist Church, 7594 Old Hickory Blvd., Whites Creek, TN, Capacity: 100; Lipscomb University, 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville, TN Capacity: 500.
