Children ages 3-9 years of age are invited to Bible story-time at Lafayette First Baptist Church each Thursday morning in July beginning Thursday, July 10th. Story-time will begin at 10:00 a.m. each Thursday. Children will listen to a story, learn a song, and then enjoy refreshments. Readers will include: Vera Brewer, Stacie Collins, Janis Dooley, and Debby Prock. Mel Perdue along with Katie Butrum will lead the children in learning a song. Following are the dates of the summer Bible story-time: Thursday, July 10th; Thursday, July 17th; Thursday, July 24th; and Thursday, July 31st.

Arthritis Exercise Classes
Arthritis exercise classes will start on Monday, July 7, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Emergency Medical Service Building Classroom in Lafayette. The class is a non-clinical exercise program designed to help those who have joint and/or muscle problems achieve improved joint mobility, muscle strength and endurance in order to improve the performance of their daily activities. 129th Army Band Concert July 19th
On Saturday, July 19, at 7:00 p.m., the 129th Army Band will perform at Key Park in Lafayette. This is the third in the “Concerts in the Park” series sponsored by Macon County Arts Council. It will be free to the public. The 19th Army Band includes 50 instrumentalists, and is under the directions of Major Theodore Perry and 1st Sgt. Charles Powell. The concert will include patriotic songs and military marches familiar to us all. Bring a lawn chair to the park and enjoy the evening's entertainment. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Macon County High School Auditorium.
