My name is Chuck Sandifer. I am a candidate for School Board Member in the 3rd, 4th, 15th, and 16th districts of Macon County. I have lived in Macon County for the past 40 years, and was a graduate of Macon County High School in 1982. I currently work as a licensed building contractor here in the area. I have been married for 18 years and have two sons, Elliot and Winston Sandifer, in the school system.

Through my association as a volunteer with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Pee Wee Basketball, Coach Pitch, and many years with the Macon County Soccer League, I have had the privilege to meet many parents and students in the area. I will strive to serve each of these families with the utmost respect and dedication. I truly have the best interest of these children at heart. In these tough economic times, it is highly important that our local children realize the value of and have the ability to receive the best quality education possible. We have many outstanding teachers in our system and I have a desire to retain these fine individuals as a part of the student's education plan.

I believe that my work as a contractor will help me make better decisions concerning the building programs that are necessary due to growth and improvements to current facilities. I have been self-employed in the building industry for over 25 years. I feel that having managed my own business for that period of time will help in the other financial decisions for the system.

Over the coming weeks I will try to see as many of the voters of these 4 districts as possible. If I do not see you in person, please consider this my request for your vote on August 7th, 2008.
